The STRiVE Foundation Board is proud to be hosting our sixth year of the Tulips and Juleps Derby Watch Party at the Western Colorado Botanical Gardens, generously sponsored by Rosecap Financial Advisers. Proceeds support the very important work being done by STRIVE to provide service and support to children who have been identified as having developmental delays and disabilities.
This year’s event will include pre-race gambling/Race Raffle, Kentucky Derby viewing, Corn Hole Contest, tasty southern fare and of course, famous Mint Juleps. Ladies will get the opportunity to don their festive derby hats and sundresses. Gentlemen are encouraged to dress in their linen or seersucker suits.
MORE ABOUT EARLY INTERVENTION
STRIVE provides home-based therapeutic intervention for children birth to age three identified as having a developmental delay or disability. Services include occupational therapy, speech therapy, physical therapy, parent education, and early childhood development services. STRIVE served 201 children in EI services in 2010, 451 in 2018 and 542 this past year. All services for these children are provided at no cost to the families. There is an urgent and substantial need to identify as early as possible those infants and toddlers in need of services to ensure that intervention is provided when the developing brain is most capable of change. High-quality early intervention programs for vulnerable infants and toddlers can reduce the incidence of future problems in their learning, behavior, and health status. Intervention is likely to be more effective and less costly when it is provided earlier in life rather than later.
By supporting Tulips & Juleps, you will be helping educate the public about the importance of early intervention services for children
with developmental delays and disabilities. All proceeds from this event will stay right here in Mesa County.
